Spotify Removes Premium Lite in India, Lowers Subscription Prices

Spotify recently made a major upgrade to their subscription offerings by discontinuing Premium Lite subscription in India and decreasing prices for Standard Premium plans.

In late 2025, we introduced the Premium Lite plan at Rs139 per month with limited features that enabled ad-free listening. That plan has since been discontinued in favour of Standard Premium for Rs139; which provides similar ad-free music listening while including offline downloads at 320 kbps quality audio quality and unlimited offline listens compared to previously priced plans such as Premium Lite at Rs199 each month.

Spotify recently reduced their Student plan price from Rs99 per month to Rs69; Premium Platinum plans, on the other hand, remain at their existing value of Rs299 while Duo and Family Platinum plans were discontinued.

Spotify claims its changes are designed to offer increased value and choices to Indian customers.
